WELCOME TO WEEK 13
You Don’t Owe Anyone an Announcement
This week, Ema explores what it means to share this news on your terms.
There’s No Deadline, Just Your Pace.
Many people wait until the 12-week mark to share their news. For some, this brings a sense of relief and safety, knowing they’ve passed a statistically riskier phase.
Others share earlier, or much later. Some choose to keep it close, between just themselves and a partner or a trusted few.
All of these choices are valid. None of them are wrong.
This is a moment that belongs to you - not to expectation, tradition, or pressure from others. Whether you tell your family this week, wait until the bump is visible, or don’t announce at all, it’s still yours.
Ask yourself:
- Who do I want to share this with, and why?
- Would telling someone bring me comfort, or stress?
- Does holding it quietly feel protective, or lonely?
The answer might be different each week. That’s okay too.
There’s no wrong way to move through this chapter. Some women want to celebrate loudly. Others feel more grounded keeping it sacred and quiet. Both are acts of love and protection in their own way.
There’s no playbook. Just your gut and your right to listen to it.
